The fun thing about American Girl is the creativity of it all. From picking outfits to decorating craft kits and furniture, American Girl is honoring creative girls.
At Girl AGain we embrace his tradition with Girl AGain crafting events. On August 2nd, we are having two t-shirt workshops scheduled in the late afternoon and early evening.
Girls ages six and up can decorate a t-shirt to their liking, with fabric markers and paints. It’s bound to bring your child’s inner artist to life. These t-shirts not only fit the 18 inch doll but they fit many stuffed animals.
But what are you going to to do while the kids are having fun? You can take a look at the store, of course! Each item has been carefully examined and priced by our Yes She Can trainees. You can be assured that it has been priced very fairly. To fully understand this, let me walk you through the process of getting an item onto the floor at Girl AGain:
How Girl AGain prepares, prices and promotes our collection.
First, we get a box of merchandise. We make sure that we carefully mark everything included with it. We have to thank our donors properly!
Then we examine the items for their condition and what is supposed to be included with it. For multi-part items, we check if we have items in our inventory to make an outfit or accessory set complete. The price reflects whether the item is complete or incomplete from it’s original.
Next is the cleaning. We all work very hard to make sure that an item is the cleanest it can be. If you visit the store, you can often see a trainee in the back of the store cleaning an item. If we cannot get a stain out, we will mark it on the tag.
Then we have to research and price the item. We want to give you the best price possible so we work very hard to give you the best deal. For example, we check if it is still available in American Girl store. If so, it is automatically half off the American Girl price. If it is retired, we check to see if the item is on E-bay and we beat that price.
After all that, it is ready for display on the floor!
Don’t worry if your child wants to shop with their week’s allowance after the event though. We make an effort to have cute items at every price range. We also hold regular sales to give our customers even more ways to save!
Our next sale is on August 2nd from 4:30PM – 7PM and will feature a variety of items from all of our past Trunk Shows. We will also have the two very special T-shirt design events!
We hope to see you soon and hope you can join for one of the workshops on August 2nd!
