Memorial Day honors the soldiers who died while serving in the armed forces. Many cities, towns, and communities have speeches and parades to celebrate the military men and women.
Many people march in the parade, and many watch.
The parade usually has cars with Veterans waving to the people, cheering, and waving flags. These parades have generally patriotic music played by a band, mostly a school band. Some people go to the cemetery for their loved ones who served in the war and bring flowers and flags for them.
Memorial Day is a National holiday when most businesses are closed.
Many people have BBQs or visit the graves of their loved ones to bring flowers and flags. Some people get together with friends whom they don’t see regularly.
