Meet our honorees

Haley Moss

Diagnosed with autism at the age of three, Haley Moss’ parents were told that she might not ever finish high school or earn a driver’s license. Today, she is a lawyer, neurodiversity expert, keynote speaker, educator, and the author of several books that guide neurodivergent individuals through professional and personal challenges. Haley is a consultant to top corporations and nonprofits that seek her guidance in creating an inclusive workplace, and she is a sought-after commentator on disability rights and the Americans with Disabilities Act.

She is determined to make the world more accessible and inclusive for people with disabilities and to encourage others to embrace neurodiversity. Determined to give back to her community, Haley serves on the Board of Directors of Disability Rights Florida, the Constituency Board for the University of Miami-Nova Southeastern University Center for Autism and Related Disabilities, and the Board of Directors of Florida Lawyers Assistance.

Valerie Tripp

Valerie Tripp (Yale ’73; Harvard GSE ’ ’82) is a Westchester native growing up in Mt. Kisco; she is the award-winning author of American Girl books about Felicity, Josefina, Samantha, Kit, Molly, and Maryellen as well as the Welliewisher and Hopscotch Hill School series. Tripp also wrote three books for “Izzy Newton and the S.M.A.R.T. Squad,” a STEM series for National Geographic Kids. She has adapted classics for Sterling Publishers and has written numerous leveled readers, songs, stories, skills book pages, poems, and plays for educational publishers, especially for The Superkids Reading Program. She was honored as a March of Dimes Mother of the Year for her volunteer work in Montgomery County, Maryland’s local elementary schools and public libraries, and honored with The Prevention of Blindness Society’s Community Service Award. She has spoken about writing for children at The Smithsonian, The New York Historical Society, Colonial Williamsburg, Mt. Vernon, Yale University, Harvard Graduate School of Education, and The Library of Congress.  Valerie lives in Maryland with her husband, Michael.

American Girl Dolls, accessories, and books have been the cornerstone of the Yes She Can training program since the program began. Yes, the She Can founder developed this business concept because of her daughter’s passion for American Girl dolls and because there is market demand for refurbished American Girl merchandise.  While our trainees apply their expertise in American Girl to delight our customers, we teach functional business and workplace social skills and develop self-advocacy and self-esteem.

Valerie’s dedication to education, children, and people who learn differently makes her a perfect candidate to be honored at Yes She Can’s 10th Anniversary Celebration.   By attending this event, you can meet this amazing author while supporting a great cause.

 

Kelly Branco

Kelly Branco lives in Chappaqua, NY, with her husband Damon and three children: Madeline (6), Charlotte (4), and Theodore (3). She is the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer at Tremblant Capital Group, a global asset management firm. She also holds a CPA license in the State of New York. Kelly graduated from Meredith College in 2.5 years with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a minor in Economics. She also earned her Master of Strategic Public Relations from George Washington University. Kelly has been involved with various professional organizations throughout her career, and in 2021, she earned the Emerging Leaders Award from the NY Society of CPAs.

Kelly was also honored with an award from the Children’s Dream Foundation for her work in the autism community. She currently serves as a Chair of the Special Education PTA in Chappaqua and Chair of Every Person Is Connected (an organization focused on improving the quality of life for people with disabilities by increasing awareness and promoting inclusion in the community).

Most recently, she published a children’s book titled “My Sister Maddie,” introducing the concept of neurodiversity inclusion and awareness based on her life experience as both a mother and sister of someone with an autism diagnosis.
