The leaves are changing colors. We’ve been back in school for a few weeks now. Now, its October, and it’s time to start preparing for one of my favorite holidays-Halloween! The day of costumes and free candy. Not only is it one of my favorite days of the year, it’s also Molly McIntire’s, the American Girl of 1944.
In the first book of the Molly McIntire series, Molly is excited for Halloween, eager to find the perfect costume. Now if only good material for costumes wasn’t in short supply because of the war. But, with some creativity and resourcefulness, Molly and her two best friends, Linda and Susan, end up trick-or-treating as Hawaiian hula dancers. Just goes to show that a little thought can go a long way when it comes to Halloween delights!
For more Halloween treats, come visit Girl AGain and browse the doll-sized costumes we are selling, so that your doll can join in the trick-or-treat fun! And
for something really special, come down to the store on October 26th for our Halloween art-and-crafts workshop on making Trick-or-Treat picture frames (sign up here: picture frames). We’ll even take a photo of you and your doll in costume to put in your new frame! You can also find Molly’s first book and many other Molly items at the store!
