Even though I am not the best at writing, one of the things I have been working on is to get myself out of my comfort zone. So today, Claudia and I decided to work together on this very special blog, to commemorate the lives and efforts of so many people how have served our country working for the military.
The 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month an armistice between the US and allied nations and Germany went into effect, so that is why this day officially honors all Veterans.
Molly McIntire is an American Girl born in the mid-1930s, comes from a Scottish-American family, and was very close to her dad.
James McIntire was part of the U.S. Army Medical Corps, where he served for several months when he had to be away from Molly and the rest of this family. He used to communicate with his family by letters, but he could not say anything related to the war on his letters.
So many people like James have sacrificed their personal lives to serve our country, and that is why Veterans Day is important, as a way to commemorate the valor and all their contributions.
Thank you, Veterans!
